Decon... Decon... Decon... This is almost the most satisfying part of car detailing. The difference that a good decon can make to a cars overall shine and feel is amazing. Using a clay bar is almost old fashoned now with the introductions of these clay blocks. They work in the same way as a clay bar does, pulling all the contaminants out of the paint.

The benifits to using the clay block are massive. Ever dropped a clay bar on the garage floor or driveway?, there's nothing worse! Time to buy a new one. With the clay block you simply rinse the dirt off and keep going. They are larger so it takes a lot less time to go over the entire car. They also last forever so are great value for money.

I like the medium strength clay block and I have never found the need to go for anything more aggressive.

Decontaminate numerous cars with one product
When new, the block needs to be broken in by cleaning the glass. Once you have 'clayed all the glass, the block will be broken in.

Immediately after "chemically" decontaminating the car with CarPro Iron X, rinse the car thoroughly.

I Optimum No Rinse, liberally, soaking the panels you want to decontaminate. I usually start on the glass then work my way from top to bottom.

Use this block on the surface of the paint to remove the stuff you don't want there. The Optimum No Rinse is the lubricant we need to reduce marring and scratching during this step.

It really doesn't matter if Optimum No Rinse dries on the paint because you are going to be polishing, but I like to rinse off after I've done a few panels. It will dry a bit streaky if you let it. This is due to the contaminants you are pulling off the paint

Rinse thoroughly and dry the car.
